Nomi Melul Ohad
I have always drawn.
Even before I drew directly on top of any format, the outline of the drawing was already in my imagination.
Today, when a variety of creative tools and a selection of art materials are at my disposal, I choose to be faithful and use In most of my works: soft pencils and/or markers on paper and acrylic paints on wooden boards.
I translate some of the pencil or marker drawings that fill the pages of my sketchbook into drawings on.
On top of wooden boards that I find by chance in one place or another, or I will order specially from a carpenter Birch wood panels in the dimensions I want.
These wooden boards are my "candy". I adopt them with great enthusiasm, bring them to my studio And I long for the moment when I draw on them.
The choice of painting subjects in my works is intuitive and built, most of it as a whole, on pieces of visual information, attachment to people or landscapes. These find expression on the substrates of my works - paper and wood.
Color is a very important element in my work, although sometimes I need a temporary "disconnect" from using the scale Wide range of colors and the use of only one color (black) for painting, in order to come back later and paint again with a rainbow of shades.
